All you have to do is look at the difficulties Netanyahu is having making a coalition and the deals he has to make to do it. These deals are a disaster for the country. My post from 9 years ago The electoral system in Israel is broken ... is unfortunately more relevant then ever.
I think it's fascinating that the reforms they did make in order to wipe out the smaller parties have only made things more difficult.
ReplyDeleteThey need a riding system in Israel including those areas of Jewish predominance in Yesh. 121 seats representing an area containing approximately 60 000 people.
I don't think it is fascinating at all - as a matter of fact, I figured in advance that that is what is likely to happen. What is fascinating is that a bunch of presumably intelligent people worked for a solution for a few years, and came up with such a fashla.
