This past week's Mishpacha newspaper had an article which stated that a group of Rabbanim in EY, with the approval of R' Elyashiv, have started talking to a major European shaver manufacturer (I assume Phillips) about building "kosher shavers". They will build a shaver that is kosher לכל הדעות. The big question will be how well could such a shaver work?
There already is info about this published by Gedolim. Some don't need any modifications either:

I know that, in fact, I followed their instructions to remove the lift and cut from my shaver. However, R' Elyashiv disagrees and holds that these are no good. The new effort will be kosher l'chol hadaios

ReplyDeleteInteresting. I've never heard of someone not holding by the psak presented on that website; but I guess it's a good thing. It doesn't really affect me, I've got a beard and only trim my neck.
